In what little free time I've had lately I've been playing Shadow of Rome on the PlayStation 2. It has been a while since I've thoroughly enjoyed a game as much as this. The game-play is simple but allows advanced users the chance to take advantage of bonus Salvos (basically points). The game is split between two players, Agrippa and Octavianus (the future Augustus Caesar),
with the formers missions involving Roman warfare as well as gladiatorial combat. The later enjoys missions involving puzzle solving and clandestine investigations. This game has a great cohesive feel and is enjoyable over extended periods of time. Upon completion, the game offers a modest ending video with hints of the forthcoming sequel. I rarely ever recommend video games to others, but this is a great video game that is very entertaining. Buy it or rent it to burn, whatever.
