Went out to the WIltern LG on Friday night with Shannon to see Death Cab for Cutie and Stars.
We had general admission tickets for the seats upstairs. Knowing Shannon and I, an early arrival was not an option. Even though we got there about 1 minute into the Stars set, we got a great seat in the front row Mezzanine. That was a very pleasant surprise. I am a pretty big Death Cab fan, but I was really looking forward to Stars. I have had them on heavy rotation for the past few months. They did not disappoint live. They played for about 45 minutes and were great. Each song was off their most recent album, Set Yourself on Fire. I am even more in love with Stars after this show. And quite frankly, if you don't know their music, you should.

Death Cab for Cutie also put on a great show. They played stuff off of most of their albums, with the majority coming from
their newest, Plans. They went pretty much non-stop and really rocked the Wiltern. Even the old "near hits" such as "The New Year" and "The Sound of Settling" rose the crowd. I wasn't disappointed as Translatlanticism was tapped one more time for "Tiny Vessels," which is probably my favorite Death Cab song right now.

I've got a damn busy week ahead. My semester ends tomorrow (10/15) and I have much work to finish up. I celebrate the rest of the week with a Ben Lee show at the Troubadour on Wednesday followed by a double set of Shout Out Louds at the Troubadour on Friday, and The Glass House on Saturday. Not to be outdone, my friend Steven has a show in Newport Beach on Sunday at hogue barmichaels. If you are in the area, check em' out. I may have extra tixs for the Ben Lee show, if interested.
