LA infamy

Well it's been a while since my name has been featured in an article in a Hollywood periodical such as The Hollywood Reporter or the Ross Reports TV and Film.  I was recently doing a Goolge search with my name and came across an old one from the Ross Reports TV and Film from back in 2004.  The best part is I am the cliffhanger at the end of the sample article.  To read more one has to either register for a free trial or pay for an account.  Well, it's not hard to gage what is said after the ... but I like this anyway.  So if someone were randomly searching my name on Google they would ask them self "Garrett is no ...?". 

Many of my friends know the talent agency I was for working at that time, but do they know my current agency?  Well the Ross Reports chose not to disclose that information and my blurb in the Hollywood Reporter is not searchable on Google. Oh well.  I like cliffhangers.  Bout time I got the quality press!

That's what weekends are for

Did a whole lot of nothing this weekend.  And it was worth it.  I had a very long week and weekend a week ago.  I even went to Vegas during it.  Two weeks ago I went to a solo performance by Dashboard Confessional and I was 'on a bender' since.

Friday I went out for a little while to celebrate my friend Jenn's last day at work.  I had a few drinks and by 12:30 I was exhausted so I headed home to begin a weekend of relaxation. 

I went to a grad fair on Saturday and got my cap and gown and filled out some info I had missed.  I actually ran into a girl that I had a brief romance with.  One of the hottest girls I've seen in my life, too young though.  And I thought she was living in Oregon.  busted.  After that I spent the rest of the day and part of the night working on my thesis.  Went home on Saturday night and just watched some movies with Shannon.

Sunday was a total day of vegetation.  Shannon and I spent practically the entire day in bed catching up on some serious TiVo.  One of the best damn days I've had in a while. 

A long, incurable paradigm

It has been a whirlwind week or so for me.  I was recently commenting on the Dashboard Confessional show I saw last week and was planning on writing a concert review, but that didn't happen.  Too much to do.

On Friday I went to the Staples Center with a few peeps to see the LA Lakers beat the Dallas Mavs 108-103 (box score).  Kobe was able to rape his way to 40 points, but it was cool to see Dirk Nowitzki put in 23.  The game was spent damn near court-side with throngs of beautiful LA women surrounding us.  Very good times.  I drank many Heinekens which is an awesome thing at a Laker game. 

Went out on the town after the game and ended up at one of my all time favs in LA, the Three Clubs.  This is one of those hard to find LA bars/lounges that has no signs.  So if you're cruising down Vine one night and you see the sign for Bargain Clown Mart, you've just found one of the coolest lounges in LA.

Saturday came and went with much more to talk about, but according to the non stop barrage of TV commercials, I can't tell you much.  According to the Las Vegas Tourism Board "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,"  and I'm inclined to oblige.  A few of us went out to Vegas on Saturday night for one night and one night only.  Had a blast as usual and none of us made it back to our actual hotel rooms at The Hard Rock. 

Started out at the Hard Rock to check in and set the scene.  From there the whirlwind continued to New York New York, then to Treasure Island for the women and the lounge Tangerine.  Gets hazy after that but the next spot was The Palms to hit up Ghostbar.  Some more shenanigans happened after this but I ended up back at Ghostbar for the glorious Sunday Morning sun rise from the 55th floor outdoor patio.  Still drinking, dancing, and pulling chicks at around 6am. 

I love Vegas. 

Dashboard Confessional Solo

The Dashboard Confessional show at the HOB Sunset Strip was awesome last night.  Yesterday just happens to be one of the best days I can remember in a while and we topped the night off with a real late night stop at Fatburger on Santa Monica Ave.  I will post later about the show, it was one of the best I've seen in while.

On another note, Fatburger may no longer be synonymous with LA.  It seems that New York will be getting its first Fatburger, and not in NYC.  West Nyack will house the first Fatburger at the Palisades Center Mall.  This is not the first East coast location as there has been a Fatburger in some Florida city for several years.
